Executive Team

Barnaby Mote (CEO)

Barnaby spent 10 years in financial services IT prior to co-founding 4sl. He has worked for UBS, Deutsche Bank, ABN Amro and RBS in roles including programme controller, financial controller and business manager and his experience covers front and back office technology as well as infrastructure. He has been working with Stuart Tarrant since 2006, after meeting on a project at a mutual client a couple of years earlier. Prior to moving into the CEO role in 2011, he was 4sl’s Finance Director.

He has a Masters in Psychology from St Andrews University.

Stuart Tarrant (Services Director)

Stuart gained a BSc in engineering at UCL and complemented this with practical experience from an engineering apprenticeship and a period in R & D at Sony Broadcast. He worked as a software engineer at Case Communication and a systems analyst at NatWest Bank before moving into investment banking IT with SG Warburg in the early 1990s; the subsequent acquisition by Swiss Bank, the outsourcing of IT services to Perot Systems and merger with UBS enabled Stuart to gain recognition as a senior programme and IT change agent.

After a 3 year period consulting with a specialist City-based infrastructure services firm, he co-founded 4sl in 2007.

Ed Crane (COO)

Ed joined 4sl in October 2010 following a six month career break. Prior to this, he worked for Symantec in their services business for just over 10 years where he worked alongside Barnaby Mote and Stuart Tarrant. In his most recent role of Business Development Manager he generated over $37m of services revenue over a 6 year period. He has significant experience of working in services-lead companies and has a wealth of knowledge of the utilities market sector with strong relationships in a number of high profile companies.

Ed has a BSc in Building Surveying from The University of Reading, and an MSc in Information Systems from The University of Sheffield.

Adrian Denny (APAC Director)

Adrian was appointed as Regional CEO for Asia Pacific in June 2011. Prior to this he was consulting with 4sl Group in London on two financial sector accounts providing ITSM expertise.

Adrian began his career in IT in 1995 with a chemical distribution company. His financial services experience includes five and eight year tenures with Merrill Lynch and Standard Chartered respectively and his areas of expertise cover FX trading support, market data, infrastructure, outsourcing and vendor management, ITSM and software licence management. Adrian lives in Singapore and is married with a son. He enjoys golf, diving, cooking and travel.
